RUGBYTRAINING

ABOUT

THE COACH

RugbyTraining is run by a coach who'd rather build a kid's confidence than their trophy cabinet — the trophies tend to follow anyway.

How I coach

I started coaching minis because my own kids joined a local club and the sessions were, frankly, chaos — one ball, twenty kids, and a lot of standing around. RugbyTraining exists to fix that.

Every session runs to a written plan built around small-sided games, so every player is involved on nearly every phase — not queued up waiting for a turn. Sessions are scaled to age and stage: tag-only for the youngest groups, contact introduced gradually and only once footwork, body position and communication are solid.

I care less about who wins the Saturday match and more about whether a quiet kid asked for the ball this week. That's the metric that actually predicts whether they'll still be playing at sixteen.
